Chess Workshop & Simul

Chess in Iowa is pleased to sponsor IM Erik Santarius and FM Alex Betaneli for a friendly one-day chess event. Alex will give a morning lecture and Erik will play a timed simul at G70 +30. In addition to this great one-day chess experience, we will have complimentary pizza at the lunch intermission! Come see Alex’s well respected lectures and join one of a dozen Iowa players to simultaneously challenge an International Master in a timed game of chess.

LOCATION: Christ the King Lutheran Church, 325 Mormon Trek Blvd, Iowa City, IA

TIMES: Lecture: 9 am to Noon, Lunch, Simul 2:00 pm to 5 pm.

LUNCH BLITZ: A complimentary 5 Round USCF Rated Blitz from 1 to 2 pm will be played with a Time Control of G/5 d0 for all registered participants.

FOOD: AM: Coffee, Bagels, LUNCH: Pizza, ALL DAY: Water and Lemonade
